Dr. Goodhew graduated from the University of Waterloo with his Optometry degree in 1993 and became therapeutically licensed in 2000. He enjoys being an active part of his profession, having served as the President of the Ontario Association of Optometrists from 2014 through 2016. Dr. Goodhew also served as the co-chair of the National Public Education Committee for the Canadian Association of Optometrists. 

Dr. Goodhew enjoys seeing patients of all ages. He has a special interest in dry eye disease, myopia management and glaucoma. He has worked as a consultant for some of the world’s largest eye care companies, including Johnson & Johnson Vision Care, CooperVision, Alcon and Zeiss just to name a few. 

Dr. Goodhew is also a partner in MyDryEye, a multifaceted Dry Eye company with several digital properties spanning public education and eye doctor education. Outside of work, he is passionate about cycling, running, golfing, tennis and spending time with his wife Dr. Tina Goodhew and their two sons: Camden and Braedon.

Dr. Tina graduated with the highest standing in her class with a B.Sc. Honours degree from Queen’s University; which she attended on a full scholarship. After receiving several offers and awards including an Ontario Graduate Scholarship and NSERC, Dr. Tina chose to attend the University of Waterloo to pursue Optometry.

She is active in service to the profession of Optometry. Dr. Tina Goodhew served on the Board of Directors for the BC College of Optometrists in the early 2000’s. From 2010 through 2016, she was a director for Eye Recommend; a group responsible for helping chart the course of optometry in Canada. She has given numerous talks to colleagues and community groups and currently serves as a key opinion leader for Alcon, CooperVision, Bausch & Lomb and Sightly.

Dr. Tina delights in helping patients see their best. She is especially passionate about children’s vision and is a past recipient of the Eye See Eye Learn award. She also has special interests in advanced contact lens fitting, dry eye disease, and laser vision correction. After hours, she enjoys spending time with her family and playing volleyball, tennis, and softball.

Dr. Tong graduated from the University of Guelph with an Honours B.Sc. in 2005. She received several awards, including an Ontario Graduate Scholarship. This scholarship allowed Dr. Tong to pursue her research interests in retinal physiology at the University of Waterloo School of Optometry where she completed her M.Sc. in Vision Science (2008) while concurrently earning her Doctor of Optometry degree (2011). While at the University of Waterloo, she also served as a lab and clinical instructor. In her final year of training, Dr. Tong completed an ocular disease externship at the Lexington Veterans Affairs Medical Centre in Kentucky, where she became skilled in managing eye diseases and the use of ocular therapeutics.

Dr. Tong grew up in Halton and is proud to serve her home community. She welcomes patients of all ages and is committed to educating them on the latest eye care options. She also provides her eye care services in English and Cantonese.

Outside of work, Dr. Tong surrounds herself with friends and family, spending her time dragon boating, practising yoga, social dancing, working on her photography, and planning her next big hiking adventure.

Dr. Phyllis Ho completed her Honors Bachelor of Science and her Doctor of Optometry at the University of Waterloo. She served as Class President, Lions Club President, and Valedictorian for her graduating optometry class. During her studies, she completed an ocular disease and therapeutics externship at the Lexington Veteran Affairs Medical Centre in Kentucky, where she received extensive training in the diagnosis and management of ocular diseases. Upon graduation, she was awarded the Margaret Hansen des Groseilliers Award and the CooperVision Contact Lens Award.

She enjoys volunteering her time and has travelled to Moldova on a mission trip to provide eye care services and to Umasbamba to build a school.

Dr. Ho is committed to providing excellent care to all her patients and keeps up with the latest advancements in optometry through lectures and seminars. She is passionate about myopia control and wants to help her patients maintain healthy eyes and good vision. She can provide eye exams in English, French, and Cantonese.

In her spare time, she enjoys exploring the city, trying new recipes, or supporting local restaurants.

Born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Dr. Quinn received his Hours Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Winnipeg in 1999 on full scholarship as a student of highest distinction. Following his love of helping others he moved to Ontario to pursue his childhood dream of becoming an Optometrist. In 2003, he graduated from the University of Waterloo as a Doctor of Optometry on the deans honor list and moved to Vancouver to explore the West Coast.

Back in Ontario for the past 9 years, Dr. Quinn has joined our practice to assist with binocular vision training, paediatric optometry, concussion rehabilitation and sports enhancement services. He has a special interest in nutrient prevention of ocular disease and the continued development of the visual system from childhood throughout life. Currently his practice is centered on visual rehabilitation of those with ADD, ADHD, Dyslexia, headaches, migraines, motion sickness and those with concussions that fail to heal correctly.

Dr. Quinn has a strong passion for learning about the intricacies of the human body and sharing his knowledge with colleagues and patients alike. He served as the Executive Director of Professional Development for the Largest Eye Care Provider in Canada for 8 years, toured across Canada speaking at training seminars for medical professionals and enjoys a prolific writing career publishing training documents and papers in the optometric field.

He has joined our practice with his wonderful wife Jen, who is a holistic nutritionist, vestibular therapist and vision therapist. Together they enjoy finding new and exciting recipes to cook in the kitchen, getting to know the Oakville community and will one day find the time to learn how to play tennis.
